Pointless. Unnecessary. Turn Around. Don’t Come Back.
What does a dead-end mean to you?
No Through Road explores these strange, mostly overlooked town planning decisions, resulting in boxed off streets, with nowhere to go other than tuning around and leaving the same way you entered. Serving as a metaphor for some, a joke for others, or a satnav trap from the early 2000’s. The project showcases pointless architecture, the banality of the mundane, but also the beauty and detail that comes from rendering such locations in black and white. It hopes to entice the viewer into this world portrayed by the camera and ask what could have been, and what might be in the future.
